As a founder and former director of operations for Harborside, Andrew DeAngelo managed the daily functions of the nation’s largest medical and adult-use cannabis dispensary in Oakland, Calif., as well as its San Jose location. In addition, Andrew supported Harborside Farms and FLRish, Inc., where he managed vertical integration of the Harborside supply chain and additional retail
locations in California.
Harborside has a long track record of success having served over one million unique visitors and over $300 million in gross cannabis sales over the last 12
years. Andrew and his brother, Steve, have also successfully prevented the federal government from seizing Harborside in forfeiture actions against the
company in 2012. Steve and Andrew are currently leading the litigation of Harborside’s 280-E case with the IRS.
As an industry leader, Andrew currently serves as a founding member of the board of directors for the California Cannabis Industry Association, where he’s
known for his leadership, diplomacy, and passionate pursuit of safe access to cannabis for all patients and adults. Andrew works in this capacity to lower taxes,
open local markets, and expand the legal cannabis landscape in California.
Andrew has been an activist in the cannabis reform movement for over 30 years. He co-starred with his brother in the groundbreaking series, “Weed Wars,” on the
Discovery Channel in 2011. Harborside has also been featured in numerous media outlets, including the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, Washington
Post, and the Wall Street Journal.
Andrew has an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theatre and a B.F.A. in Communications from Chapman University.
